Have a Perceptivi-tea!

Altamont Tea Company offers private teas, tea tastings, and tea education events in Western North Carolina. These include bridal teas, teas with tealeaf readings and tea tasting events for groups (like wine tasting).

“Perceptivi-teas” are an entertaining combination of tealeaf readings and tea tasting. Imagine a wine tasting, but with tea. Learn about the history of tea while sampling sumptuous green, black and herbal blends. Enjoy an afternoon with your friends sipping a variety of teas while sampling tasty tea cuisine and receiving a personalized tealeaf reading with the leaves from your first cupping.

Everyone will take home a sample of their favorite tea and instructions on how to prepare different types of tea!

Sample Menu

Green tea selection paired with a savory treat:
Japanese Bancha with cream cheese, sweet onion and olive tea sandwiches.
Bancha is the term applied to the last plucking of Sencha in September-October. Sweet, clean tasting —favored as an everyday drink in Japan.

Herbal selection, paired with a sweet treat:
Rooiobus paired with assorted shortbreads.  Rooibus is a caffeine-free
beneficial herb from the Cedarburg region of South Africa. It contains minerals  claimed
to help soothe headaches and digestive problems.

Black selection, paired with sweets:
Prince Williams blend paired with mini-scones and chocolates.
This blend of Oolong and black teas has flavory high notes. It is best drunk as is or with a little sweetening. Assam and Keemun teas also pair well with sweets and chocolate.
